Chophaus - Leeds restaurant
I recently visited a new restaurant called Chophaus which is a contemporary style restaurant/bar and grill based in Oakwood just on the edge of Roundhay Park. The restaurant is on the outside is beautiful enough, but step inside and find a spacious, well set out building with décor of a classic taste oozing elegance and sophistication.
To start we tried the Seared King Scallops in a wild mushroom ragout and winter truffle which was beautifully presented and the carrot and lemongrass soup was also delicious.
For main I ordered the rib eye steak which is cooked on a charcoal grill which gives a distinctively rich smoky flavour which I paired with a peppercorn sauce. All their steaks are locally sourced and therefore change on a weekly basis, based on the best cuts available.
Side options included some mouth-watering dauphinoise potatoes, cauliflower cheese and giant onion rings, truly a delicious feast.
Onto my favourite part, the dessert. We were treated to Jam roly poly with a rhubarb ripple ice cream and a stunning black forest cheesecake, fantastic.
The food teamed with a wide selection of wines and cocktails makes Chophaus a great dining experience, the friendly staff can’t do enough for you and I will definitely be returning to try their epic looking Sunday roast. I have been searching for the perfect Sunday roast for a long time and from the reviews I’ve seen on social media so far, it’s a date I need to get into the diary asap.
