I recently visited the liquor studio in Leeds, where I attended their Gin experience, which is an event where their gin instructors guide you through the art of distillation and the science behind the difference in flavour for gin.
The evening was very interesting, learning about the process of distillation, followed by a guide for different possible ingredients you can add to the distilled gin and what effect and flavour they would provide.
From here we were let loose to experiment using all the different ingredients/botanicals to create our own gin from the knowledge which we had gained using our senses. This was great as it meant that everyone had individually created a gin to suit their taste, and when noting down the ingredients used, we could make it again or alter things slightly if we were to create another gin on a separate occasion.
During the evening we were also able to indulge in a range of complimentary gin and tonic flavours, which we could also use to help guide our choice of the botanicals we used when developing our own.
At a fixed price per person I think this is a great event to attend with friends for various occasions, whether it be a big birthday, hen/christmas party/team building or just a fun afternoon with friends, the Liquor studio in Leeds sure has you covered, and you leave with a bottle of gin so what more could you want!!!
