Lost And Found.
Last week I visited the Leeds club location of Lost and Found to try out their new autumn/winter menu and it didn’t disappoint.
The building is one of the most beautiful, grand venues around, this little hideaway is perfect for the winter months whether you’re wanting some evening drinks, daytime food or evening celebrations. The extensive menus provide something for everyone at any point of the day/week. They have afternoon tea, bottomless brunch and great lunch and evening menu options.
The new menu has a variety of autumn/winter flavour themed dishes which work very well with the seasonal cocktails. Our lovely server Sonia was on hand with her knowledge and recommendations of what to have, from the starter to cocktails we were thoroughly impressed. It’s difficult to find a restaurant that provides great service to match the standard of food and drink but at Lost and Found Leeds club they have found the perfect pairing.
From the cocktail menu we chose the Yuki-Tsubaki to start which is a gin based cocktail with a hazelnut syrup and topped with ginger ale, this was a great cocktail; gin mixed with a ginger ale just provides a whole new flavoursome option to a standard G & T.
Next we tried the pumpkin harvest punch which was definitely a winner for both of us. A festive flavour of pumpkin and apple mixed with a gin base made the cocktail have a festive mulled feel to it, whilst being cool and refreshing, this is easily a tipple that can be sampled all evening, which it was.
For starter we tried the pan-fried scallops which we served on a saffron risotto. Scallops are one of my favourite start options and matched with flavourful risotto was the perfect start to the meal.
My wife had the smoked haddock and cod fishcake which she was delighted with as it was packed full of fish and served with a delicious poached egg and hollandaise dill.
For our main dishes, I chose the three-cheese risotto which is a great vegetarian option, it was a beautiful creamy and flavour packed risotto. Danielle had the crispy harissa lamb salad, which was a packed green chilli rice salad with a coconut yoghurt, crispy lamb pieces and sprinkled with pomegranate seeds and sliced chillies.
We paired these dishes with some side orders – we tired the bang bang cauliflower which can also be had as a started and is suitable for vegetarians and vegans, this was beautiful, if had a thai style flavour to it which made the cauliflower have a more substantial texture. Secondly, we had the beef dripping potatoes describe by Sonia as a mix between hash browns and roast potatoes and they were honesty perfect.
We were too full to try any of the desert menu but the options again looked and sounded beautiful, the variety of options are endless from the evening menu, let alone the Sunday roast, festive menu and brunch/lunch menus, pair with the drinks and cocktails on offer The Lost and Found provide the perfect location for any occasion.
