Pink MCard

Day/Week/Month Pink MCard

Mcard

I recently visited The Hepworth in Wakefield to attend their well-known Christmas fair, which features stalls of a variety of some local small businesses and designers.

I travelled by bus from Leeds to Wakefield, kids in tow– they travel free – bonus, using a Pink MCard which is the perfect travel card for over the festive period.

The Pink MCard is such a good idea, as there is no need to worry about whether you have enough cash on you before you travel. You can pre load and pay for your travel using the MCard app, at payzones or bus station ticket machines or rail station ticket machines if you’re loading bus and rail travel..

I loaded DaySavers using the MCard App and bought in bulk to get the best price (just £5 each) and it means I’m ready to go for future trips. And buying DaySavers in advance is cheaper than buying it on the bus up to £1.50 cheaper per ticket!. DaySavers give you unlimited all day bus travel on any bus in West Yorkshire which I think is pretty good value as well as giving us the freedom to choose any bus on any route.

As well as DaySavers you can also load up weekly and monthly bus only or bus and train travel – a great way to help plan for the month ahead.

Another huge benefit is that the Pink MCard doesn’t require a photo ID which means that you can share it with your family and friends when you’re not using it so the likelihood is that it will come in very handy indeed!

The kids love the bus so it makes it a fun day out for all of us and with high frequency services and bus lanes it’s quicker than you think.

Wakefield is not somewhere I usually go and I have never been by bus so it was nice to be able to plan our visit ahead of time (Tip - check out Metro’s journey planner), so that when we arrived we could gage our surroundings quickly and spend our time exploring and enjoying the Christmas Fair.

At the Hepworth Christmas Fair there was a variety of stalls from textiles, jewellery, ceramics, handmade cosmetics, homeware, prints and many more. My little boy loved looking around all the stalls and talking to the owners of the small businesses and exploring all the pieces they were showing us, which was such a lovely interactive touch.

After leaving the Christmas Fair it was time for us to go back to Leeds again, so we just headed to our nearest bus stop hopped on the bus, scanned my Pink MCard and played eye spy out of the window on the journey back.

Once we got back to Leeds, my eldest boy had a thirst for all things Christmas and wanted to explore all the Christmas decorations and lights Leeds had to offer. So, we went on a little tour of Leeds to spy the biggest and best decorations we could The Victoria quarter tree was his favourite. It was such a brilliant and easy day out on the bus, much better than sat in the car as we could have fun on the way and the Pink MCard made it super convenient and saved me the hassle and cost of parking. I’ll definitely be using one again over our planned events for this festive season.
